Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by bringing your expertise in Special Education to several locations throughout Merced County. This position offers a contract opportunity in a supportive school setting, working with students in K-12 ESN (Extensive Support Needs) programs. Immediate start through the end of the school year, with schedules ranging from 35-37.5 hours per week. Multiple openings are available, and preferences for grade level assignments can be accommodated.
Candidates must hold active California Moderate/Severe (mod/sev) credentials. Your vital skills will be essential in providing specialized instruction and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California mod/sev credential required
- Experience teaching in special education settings, particularly ESN programs
- Familiarity with IEP processes and individualized instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching techniques
- Comfortable working across K-12 age groups
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction to ESN students, adapting lessons to individual needs
- Develop, implement, and track IEP goals in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and families to optimize student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed
