Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support our multi-location restaurant client based in Torrance, California. This Long-term hybrid contract opportunity is ideal for a candidate who can manage core accounting activities, contribute to accurate financial reporting, and help maintain smooth daily operations in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on close activities, reconciliations, lease accounting, and broader general ledger support while partnering across key finance functions.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is recorded accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining thorough support for general ledger activity and account balances.
• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Oversee cash-related accounting tasks and support ongoing accounts receivable and invoicing activities.
• Assist in producing financial statements and assembling reporting packages for internal review and decision-making.
• Handle accounting related to inventory, fixed assets, and leases, including compliance with ASC 842 requirements.
• Provide day-to-day operational accounting support and contribute to special assignments such as banking-related changes or other finance initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including strong ownership of month-end close activities.
• Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on expertise with bank reconciliations and balance sheet account analysis.
• Required knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with pivot tables, lookup functions, and complex formulas.
• Experience with NetSuite is preferred.
• Background in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or another multi-unit business environment is a plus.
