Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist in a vibrant school setting near Van Nuys, CA. This contract opportunity offers up to 40 hours per week, beginning immediately and anticipated through the end of October. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to empower learners from elementary to secondary levels, working with children who have a range of needs from mild/moderate to more extensive support requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid Occupational Therapy license in California
Prior experience within a school environment is preferred
Strong understanding of pediatric and adolescent therapy best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying caseload needs
Ability to start promptly and commit through the assignment duration

Responsibilities:

Provide school-based occupational therapy services to students in both elementary (mild/moderate to extensive needs) and secondary settings
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on student IEPs
Assess students’ functional abilities, using standardized assessments and observational data
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student success and participation
Deliver therapy sessions both individually and in small groups, across approximately 3.5 days at an elementary level and 1.5 days at a secondary school each week
Document sessions and progress in compliance with school and state regulations
