Position: Shipping & Receiving
Pay Rate: $20.00–$25.00/hour
Location: Galt, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to support daily warehouse operations, including preparing shipments, loading and unloading trucks, handling materials, and maintaining accurate shipping records. This position is responsible for ensuring products are properly packaged, secured, and shipped according to company standards and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has previous warehouse or shipping experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate forklifts, material-handling equipment, and power tools. This role requires physical stamina, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, or operational concerns.
Pull, package, palletize, crate, and prepare parts and materials for shipment.
Follow established shipping instructions and packaging requirements to ensure products arrive safely and accurately.
Verify parts, quantities, packaging, and shipment information for accuracy before shipping.
Load and unload LTL trucks, flatbeds, pickup trucks, and other delivery vehicles.
Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse material-handling equipment.
Utilize strapping machines, lifting equipment, and proper securement methods to prepare shipments for transportation.
Assist with receiving incoming materials and organizing products within designated warehouse areas.
Inspect shipments and materials for visible damage, discrepancies, or missing items and report concerns to supervisors.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, shipping, receiving, and loading areas.
Perform basic computer tasks, including data entry, part lookups, and reviewing shipping information.
Safely operate hand and power tools, including drills, saws, and grinders, as required for packaging and shipment preparation.
Lift, move, and position heavy materials using proper lifting techniques and available lifting equipment.
Coordinate with warehouse personnel, customers, and delivery drivers during pickups and deliveries.
Provide professional customer service when interacting with company personnel, customers, and transportation providers.
Respond efficiently to rush orders, urgent shipping requests, and changing operational priorities.
Assist with organizing warehouse inventory, staging materials, and maintaining efficient workflow.
Follow proper freight-handling procedures to minimize product damage during loading, unloading, and transportation.
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation as needed.
Support additional warehouse, shipping, receiving, and operational tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Forklift operating experience or the ability to become certified.
Clean driving record required for operating company vehicles.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and warehouse equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to shipping accuracy.
Ability to follow written and verbal shipping instructions.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to perform physically demanding warehouse and material-handling tasks.
Ability to safely lift, move, and position heavy materials using proper techniques or available equipment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with warehouse personnel.
Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, rush orders, and urgent operational demands.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment operation.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience.
Knowledge of freight handling, palletizing, crating, and shipment preparation.
Experience loading and unloading LTL trucks, flatbeds, and pickup trucks.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment, forklifts, strapping machines, and shipping tools.
Experience preparing and securing freight for transportation.
Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and part lookups.
Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or industrial environment.
