Rubbercraft is seeking Quality Inspector 2 to support our Quality team. This position performs receiving, in-process, final, and first article inspections to ensure products meet applicable drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have aerospace inspection experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and proficiency with standard inspection and measuring equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work directly with departmental teams to create and maintain reports highlighting key quality issues requiring action.
  • Develop and perform specialized tests and measurements using a variety of inspection equipment, including vision systems.
  • Support the collection and analysis of quality data to identify root causes, reduce scrap, and improve in-process inspection acceptance rates.
  • Perform receiving inspection for purchased and customer-supplied products.
  • Perform in-process inspections as required.
  • Perform all aspects of final inspection, including:
    • Reviewing paperwork to ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
    • Inspecting finished products in accordance with Rubbercraft procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
    • Reviewing and signing applicable certifications.
  • Maintain inspection records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Support customer source inspection activities.
  • Monitor Quality Assurance workload and prioritize inspection activities based on production and customer due dates.
  • Review Rubbercraft purchase orders for applicable Special Quality Requirement (SQR) requirements.
  • Support key quality performance metrics, including DPPM, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Cost of Quality, customer scorecards, internal audit risk and effectiveness, supplier performance, and contract review.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.

Inspection Experience

Qualified candidates should have experience with:

  • Receiving inspection in accordance with applicable aerospace and customer requirements, including D1-4426 where required.
  • In-process inspection of rubber and/or elastomeric components.
  • First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102.
  • Final inspection of rubber and/or elastomeric components.
  • Standard inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation.


Education, Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4+ years of inspection experience, preferably within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience inspecting manufactured components to drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to properly use standard inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and inspection practices.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ERP and quality systems; Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and other internal teams.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate required inspection and testing equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
