Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery
Location: Eureka, CA 95501
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Weekend Requirement: Yes, based on staffing needs
Pay Rate:
Local: $66–$71/hr
Traveler: $66–$71/hr
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience — Required
- Current and valid California RN license — Required
- Pending California licenses are not accepted
- Labor & Delivery experience — Required
- Postpartum experience — Preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills
- Experience working in a high-risk OB environment
- Ability to circulate during Cesarean sections
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to float within scope based on facility needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions
- Provide care for high-risk OB patients
- Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Circulate during Cesarean sections
- Monitor patients and identify changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education and support
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Float to appropriate assignments within scope as required
- Provide safe, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered care
- Work rotating weekends based on staffing needs
