Summary
A growing preclinical research organization is seeking an experienced In Vivo Research Associate to support pharmacology and animal studies across multiple species. This is a hands-on, independent role for candidates with strong in vivo experience who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform in vivo procedures including dosing (multiple routes), blood and tissue collection, necropsy, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care
- Confidently handle and restrain small and large laboratory animals (rodents, rabbits, canines, swine) in accordance with approved protocols
- Monitor animal welfare and ensure compliance with IACUC and GLP standards
- Prepare drug formulations and manage biological sample collection and processing
- Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and report malfunctions
- Track inventory and ensure laboratory readiness
- Support study planning, data review, and analysis
- Follow SOPs and strict documentation practices
- Work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field
- 3–5 years of hands-on in vivo research experience
- Proven proficiency in animal handling, dosing, blood collection, anesthesia, necropsy, and post-surgical care
- Ability to independently execute in vivo studies
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety, GLP, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to provide vaccination records and obtain required vaccines
Preferred Qualifications
- ALAT or LAT certification (AALAS)
- Experience working with multiple animal species in a preclinical setting
- Familiarity with advanced pharmacology models or surgical techniques
