Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Pharmacists are needed to support pharmacy operations at a major correctional health facility in Los Angeles, specifically at the Twin Towers Jail Pharmacy located in Downtown LA. This position involves working 7.5-hour shifts within a 24/7 jail pharmacy environment, with one position available for evenings (2 pm to 10 pm) and another for overnight shifts (10 pm to 6 am). The anticipated start date is mid-July, with a long-term, open-ended contract arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in a correctional health setting
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols specific to a correctional pharmacy
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide quality pharmaceutical care to the inmate population
- Maintain thorough documentation and complete required reports as mandated by regulatory standards
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license
- Minimum of 2 years of retail or outpatient pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with correctional or institutional pharmacy settings is a plus
- Ability to comply with security clearance process including document submission, live scan fingerprinting, and competency testing
- Comfortable working in a secure correctional facility environment
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Schedule:
- Evening shift: 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Overnight shift: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (37.5 hours per week)
Additional Details:
- Candidates must be available for a mandatory interview and facility tour on June 19
- Submission of application materials is due by June 7
- Completion of a rigorous clearance and onboarding process is required, including a competency test and employee health screening
