Investment Analyst, Secondaries

Job Description

The Role

The Analyst will focus on primary, early secondary and traditional secondary investments across private equity, infrastructure and real estate. The role includes financial modeling, the valuation of fund interests and underlying portfolio companies, qualitative and quantitative due diligence, the preparation of recommendations for the Global Investment Committee, investment monitoring, and other projects as needed.

Secondary Investments

\n

    \n
  1. Support the sourcing and initial screening of investment opportunities
  2. \n

  3. Analyze, value and price interests in private funds and underlying companies
  4. \n

  5. Prepare financial projections, transaction models and return sensitivities
  6. \n

  7. Conduct fund-level and asset-level due diligence, including the review of fund materials, financial statements and portfolio-company information
  8. \n

  9. Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to the global team and Investment Committee
  10. \n

  11. Support transaction execution and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
  12. \n

  13. Monitor investments against underwritten performance and identify material developments
  14. \n

  15. Prepare portfolio reporting and presentations for Limited Partners and Advisory Boards
  16. \n

Primary Investments:

    \n
  1. Screen the North American private markets landscape and identify attractive managers and investment opportunities
  2. \n

  3. Conduct research on investment strategies, sectors, teams and market dynamics
  4. \n

  5. Perform qualitative and quantitative due diligence, including analysis of strategy, team, track record, performance and portfolio construction
  6. \n

  7. Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to the global team and Investment Committee
  8. \n

  9. Monitor investments through regular dialogue with managers and attendance at investor meetings
  10. \n

  11. Prepare portfolio reporting and presentations for Limited Partners
  12. \n

Profile

\n

    \n
  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or another relevant field
  2. \n

  3. Up to two years of relevant professional experience, ideally including six to 18 months in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, valuation or another rigorous financial role
  4. \n

  5. Demonstrated interest in private markets and in building a long-term investment career in San Francisco
  6. \n

  7. Familiarity working with international teams and across cultures
  8. \n
