Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher focused on Kindergarten and 1st-grade students in a self-contained classroom. This full-time contract opportunity is available immediately through June 4, 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. You’ll work closely with two dedicated paraeducators to foster a dynamic and inclusive environment, helping students with moderate needs thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California mild/moderate credential required (please submit a screenshot of your current CTC)
- Experience working with K-1st grade students preferred
- Background supporting students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting is highly valued
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraeducators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address each student’s strengths and areas for growth
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and participation in classroom activities
- Adapt lessons and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with paraeducators to maximize student support and achievement
- Communicate regularly with families and staff on student goals, progress, and strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as required
