JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Supervisor, Maintenance is responsible for the successful completion of assigned activities including the maintenance, construction, installation, alteration and repair of AMPAC buildings, structures, facilities, equipment and machinery. They will irganize and direct the work of individuals and/or project teams in all aspects of assigned projects. They also assure that activities within defined scope are accomplished in accordance with AFC policies, sound business practices and are in compliance with FDA and OSHA regulations. Directly supervises individual contributors, mentoring junior staff, and responsible for planning and competency development systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direction to subordinates guided by established policies and precedents. Interprets and executes policies that typically affect individual employees of a section.
- Supervises skilled trades and craft personnel performing work in such specializations as: machine repair, air conditioning and refrigeration, carpentry, painting, machining, welding, plumbing, cement finishing as well as unskilled support and maintenance tasks.
- Serve as site mechanical SME for process equipment, utilities, and facility systems
- Provides on-the-job training and instruction to unit personnel; Owns Training and Education systems for department
- Inspect work sites to ensure that machinery and equipment are in safe and efficient working condition and that facilities meet all industrial hygiene standards.
- Plans workloads and assignment of personnel in accordance with predetermined schedules and in relation to availability of personnel, materials, supplies, parts and equipment
- Responsible for developing and improving tactical and strategic planning through Maintenance Planner direct report
- Interprets prints, layouts, and outlines special considerations or techniques to successfully complete the work.
- Inspects work in progress and completed work to ensure the quality and timelines of assigned projects.
- Develop preventative, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance stategies
- Coach and mentor junior supervisors and maintenance technicians
- Maintains continuous safety surveillance, instructs, and investigates safety problems.
- Coordinate with appropriate operating production or engineering personnel to resolve problems, expedite deliveries of materials and supplies, and to determine priorities.
- Prepares reports and maintains records regarding unit's activities including work in process, work completed, machine and material utilization and employee work time.
- Standardized maintenance procedures and typical repair methods
- Partner with Engineering and othe teams for capital projects, commissioning, upgrades, and improvement projects.
- Adhere to all company SHE policies and procedures, actively participate in hazard identification and environmental risk reduction, and report all incidents, nonconformities, and potential hazards to management to support a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5-7 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor and bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in maintenance leadership
- Experience in regulated manufacturing.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Ability to operate site equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and proficiency in plant operations, normally obtained through trade school, experience and/or in-house training.
- Read Blueprints, P&ID's, and wiring schematics.
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical components including Reactor, pumps, valves, fans, filters.
- Skills directly relating to and progressively responsible for experience in the Maintenance field.
- Experience in Maintenance Planning Software (e.g. SAP, MP2, Maximo)

This role may involve work in laboratory or manufacturing environments with potential exposure to chemicals or other regulated substances. As a condition of employment, incumbents may be required to participate in employer-provided medical surveillance programs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and company policy.
