We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting the processing of medications, refills, and prior authorizations for our patients under the supervision of our team of healthcare providers.

Requirements:

• Fluent in English and Spanish
• Completion of any one of the following: Pharmacy Technician Certificate, Medical Assistant Program, and Medication Aide Program.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Process a high volume of medication refills and medication changes on a daily basis.
• Communicate with pharmacies via phone calls, faxes, email.
• Manage incoming calls, emails, and physician orders.
• Responsible for requesting, tracking, monitoring and updating medication prior authorizations to include injectable medications.
• Control of the supply and inventory of medication samples.
• Liaise with medication representatives, set up lunch meetings.
• Document patient charts to include medication lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Order, receive, properly store and keep an injectable calendar as needed.

Skills:

• Understanding of human physiology and its impact on medication effectiveness and side effects.
• Excellent patient care skills, including empathy, compassion, and attentiveness.
• Basic knowledge of vital signs monitoring
• This position involves extended periods of seated work, bending, repetitive motions, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying loads of up to 50 pounds. As well as tasks such as answering phone calls, repetitive typing, repetitive mouse movements, looking at a computer screen and other electronic devices for a long period of time. This position also involves various neck movements, pulling, pushing, and reaching. This position involves the use of basic office equipment like a computer, scanner, printer, etc. This position also includes standing and walking for a long period of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

• Pharmacy technician experience: 1 year (Required)
