Job Description Thread Rolling Machine Operator in Commerce, CA — $28.50–$34.37/hr DOE, 1st shift, temporary. Set up and operate thread rolling machines for precision metal components.

ABOUT THE ROLE The thread has to match the print. Setup, die condition, and inspection all count.
Roll external threads on metal workpieces using detailed blueprints and process documents. Set dies and rolling parameters, inspect parts, and adjust the process to maintain dimensional accuracy. The work involves repetitive machine setup, loading, and inspection tasks around operating machinery. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Set up thread rolling machines and adjust dies and roll depths - Read blueprints and plan machining sequences - Load and position workpieces in holding devices - Set feeds, rolling speeds, tooling, cams, and stops - Monitor parts and machine performance during production - Measure threads with calipers, micrometers, and gauges - Troubleshoot setup and process issues using shop tools - Record accurate production counts and process documentation
WHAT YOU NEED - 3–5 years of thread rolling setup and operation experience, or equivalent expertise - Ability to maintain threading tolerances of ±0.0005 inch and TIR of ±0.001 inch - Ability to read engineering drawings and machine tooling diagrams - Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges - Shop math skills including fractions, decimals, trigonometry, and geometry - English reading and writing sufficient for shop documents and computer entries
NICE TO HAVE - Trade school training in thread machine operation - Complex die and roll-depth setup experience - Computerized production documentation experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Handle and position workpieces, use hands for tooling adjustments and precision inspection, and work at thread rolling machinery. Discuss specific lifting weights and standing duration with your recruiter before submission.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Precision metalworking shop with moving machinery, metal parts, industrial noise, and machine tooling. PPE is required and provided, and all plant safety procedures apply.
