Essential Job Functions

The following responsibilities are essential to the position and must be performed consistently, with or without reasonable accommodation.

1. Facility Security & Monitoring

• Actively monitor the Lemonlight premises throughout assigned working hours.
• Conduct routine interior and exterior security patrols according to established procedures.
• Monitor designated entrances, exits, parking areas, and surrounding property.
• Identify and promptly report suspicious activity, unauthorized access, property damage, and potential safety hazards.
• Monitor and manage visitor and vendor access as needed.
• Maintain awareness of facility activity and proactively address security concerns within established procedures.
• Remain attentive and available to respond to security-related needs throughout the shift.

2. Employee Safety & Escort

• Escort employees, clients, and authorized visitors to their vehicles upon request during assigned working hours.
• Monitor parking areas and surrounding property during employee departures.
• Maintain awareness of potential safety concerns when employees are entering or exiting the facility.
• Promptly report suspicious activity or potential threats to management.
• Follow established safety procedures and contact emergency services when appropriate.

3. Facility Closure & Lockup

The Evening Security Guard is responsible for executing and verifying the facility's complete closing process at the end of each business day.

Responsibilities include:

• Take ownership of the facility's daily closing procedures.
• Conduct a final walkthrough of all designated interior and exterior areas.
• Verify that employees, visitors, and vendors have exited the facility or are authorized to remain.
• Physically check and secure all designated doors, windows, gates, and access points.
• Confirm that all required locks and security measures are properly engaged.
• Verify that designated lights, equipment, and facility systems are addressed according to established closing procedures.
• Set the security alarm and confirm successful activation before leaving the premises.
• Complete all required steps on the facility's closing checklist.
• Immediately notify management if any door, window, gate, lock, or alarm system cannot be properly secured.
• Confirm that the facility has been successfully secured before completing the shift.

Critical Responsibility: The facility must not be reported as secured unless all required closing procedures have been completed and verified. Any unresolved security concerns must be immediately escalated to management.

4. Incident Reporting & Communication

• Promptly report security concerns, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and unusual incidents to management.
• Respond appropriately to security incidents according to established procedures and training.
• Contact emergency services when necessary.
• Accurately document incidents, including relevant details, observations, and actions taken.
• Immediately communicate any issue that prevents the completion of assigned security or closing responsibilities.
• Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with management and employees.
  

5. Documentation & Accountability

• Complete all assigned security inspections and closing procedures accurately.
• Maintain records of security checks, incidents, and facility closure.
• Complete and submit the required closing checklist at the end of each shift.
• Document any incomplete tasks, security concerns, or unresolved issues.
• Accurately report the status of the facility and all assigned responsibilities.
• Follow established reporting and escalation procedures.
  

6. Adjacent Studio Support (As Needed)

• Provide occasional security assistance to Lemonlight's adjacent studio at the request of the Studio Manager or designated management.
• Conduct security checks of the studio when requested, including inspecting designated entrances, access points, and surrounding areas.
• Identify and promptly report any security concerns, suspicious activity, or safety hazards.
• Coordinate with the Studio Manager to address security-related needs while maintaining primary responsibility for the main Lemonlight facility.

Studio support is an occasional, as-needed responsibility and is not part of the regular daily patrol schedule. Any studio assistance must be coordinated to ensure the security of the main facility is maintained.

Performance Expectations

Successful performance in this position requires consistent execution of the following standards:

Reliability & Attendance

• Consistently report to work on time and be ready to perform assigned duties.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow established procedures for reporting absences or lateness.
• Remain on duty throughout scheduled working hours unless otherwise authorized.

Security & Vigilance

• Actively monitor the property and complete all required security patrols.
• Remain attentive to potential safety and security concerns.
• Promptly identify, report, and appropriately respond to unusual activity.

Complete Facility Closure

• Complete 100% of required closing checklist items or document and immediately escalate any item that cannot be completed.
• Verify that all designated doors, windows, gates, and access points are properly secured.
• Confirm successful activation of the security alarm before leaving the facility.
• Never report a security check or closing procedure as completed unless it has been performed and verified.
  

Employee Safety

• Provide requested vehicle escorts during assigned working hours.
• Remain attentive to employee safety during evening departures.
• Follow established procedures when responding to potential threats or safety concerns.
  

Documentation & Communication

• Complete accurate and timely security reports and closing checklists.
• Immediately escalate urgent security issues.
• Communicate unresolved concerns and incomplete responsibilities to management.
• Maintain accurate records without omissions or misrepresentation.
  

Professionalism & Accountability

• Work independently while consistently following company policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain professional interactions with employees, clients, visitors, and vendors.
• Protect confidential security information, access codes, keys, and company property.
• Follow lawful management instructions and established safety protocols.
• Provide occasional support to the adjacent studio when requested and authorized, without compromising primary security responsibilities.
  

Employees are expected to consistently meet these performance standards. Performance will be evaluated based on adherence to established procedures, completion of assigned responsibilities, accuracy of documentation, and overall reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, facility monitoring, or building operations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures accurately.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
• Strong observational and communication skills.
• Ability to recognize and appropriately escalate security concerns.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
• Sound judgment and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to meet applicable California security registration and training requirements.
  

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to perform routine interior and exterior security patrols.
• Ability to inspect and operate designated doors, gates, locks, windows, and security systems.
• Ability to identify and communicate security concerns effectively.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments during evening hours.
• Ability to perform assigned responsibilities at the Lemonlight facility and adjacent studio, as needed, during scheduled working hours.
