About the Position
Certified Enameling is seeking an experienced Industrial Paint Line Technician to support our architectural metal finishing operations.
This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have previous hands-on experience in an industrial painting, powder coating, metal finishing, or similar production environment.
The right candidate must understand paint-line workflow, safely operate coating equipment, follow job specifications, and maintain production volume without sacrificing finish quality. Strong communication, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate electrostatic, conventional, air-assisted, or airless spray equipment.
- Apply coatings evenly and consistently according to work-order requirements.
- Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, masking, and other required
methods. - Review work orders, color information, coating specifications, and production
instructions. - Verify correct materials, colors, primers, and coating systems before application.
- Monitor coating coverage, appearance, consistency, and film thickness.
- Identify and report contamination, surface defects, color concerns, and
application problems. - Adjust spray technique and equipment settings based on part shape and coating
requirements. - Handle aluminum extrusions, panels, fabricated metal, and other customer
products carefully. - Assist with racking, masking, material movement, and paint-line changeovers.
- Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, booths, and related equipment.
- Follow all PPE, respirator, hazardous-material, and safety procedures.
- Maintain production pace and meet daily output expectations.
- Communicate delays, equipment problems, and quality concerns immediately.
- Support other paint-line and production functions when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of hands-on industrial painting, powder coating, metal
finishing, or coating-line experience. - Experience operating industrial spray equipment.
- Knowledge of surface preparation and coating-application techniques.
- Ability to read work orders and follow coating specifications.
- Ability to recognize common finish defects and application problems.
- Strong attention to detail and respect for customer-owned products.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong sense of urgency, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to safely perform physical production and material-handling work.
- Ability to comply with required PPE, respirator fit-testing, and medical-clearance
procedures. - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying liquid Kynar/PVDF coatings.
- Experience with powder-coating systems.
- Experience finishing architectural aluminum, extrusions, panels, or fabricated
metal. - Familiarity with wet-film or dry-film thickness measurement.
- Forklift experience.

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience
