Role Description The Controls Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Orange, CA. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining HVAC control systems and related instrumentation in commercial and industrial facilities. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing control and electrical issues, performing scheduled inspections, executing preventive maintenance, and calibrating sensors and devices to ensure accurate performance. The Controls Technician will interpret wiring diagrams and control schematics, document service activities, and communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors, project managers, and clients. The role also involves adhering to safety standards, supporting system upgrades, and collaborating with other technicians and trades to complete projects on time and within specifications.

- Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC controls, electrical systems, and related equipment.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control components.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control devices, including sensors, actuators, and controllers.
- Foundational understanding of electricity, wiring practices, and safe use of test equipment.
- Ability to perform accurate calibration of instruments, sensors, and control loops.
- Prior experience as a controls, HVAC, or maintenance technician in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on-site with diverse teams.
- Commitment to safety practices and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, controls, or electrical systems is preferred.
