A Hoist Operator controls motorized or hydraulic machinery to safely lift, lower, and transport heavy loads, materials, or personnel in industrial, construction, or mining settings.

Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Operate power-driven hoists, winches, cranes, or industrial lifts using hand levers, foot pedals, and throttles.</li>
<li>Secure, balance, and monitor loads to keep weights within safe capacity limits.</li>
<li>Conduct pre-shift inspections of cables, hooks, brakes, and control panels before each use.</li>
<li>Coordinate load movements with ground crews and supervisors using hand signals, radios, or bells.</li>
<li>Maintain operational logs, lubricate equipment, and report mechanical malfunctions.</li>
</ul>

Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED certificate.</li>
<li>One to five years of related experience in warehousing, construction, or mining.</li>
<li>Powered Industrial Truck certification or applicable local hoist/crane operator licensing.</li>
