What we do\n

We are Metis. We build an AI agent for manufacturing maintenance teams. We're accelerating American manufacturing by solving the skilled labor shortage: an agent that turns any technician into an experienced veteran on day one. We are live in automotive and food manufacturing facilities across the country.

The job\n

We're deploying Jack inside one of the largest meat processors in the world, at their plant in Manteca, California. The plant team wants this. They don't have the hours to do the setup work themselves. You will.

You'll be at the plant 3 days a week, about 15 hours total, as the person on the ground who makes the implementation happen. That means:

• Walking the floor with maintenance techs and supervisors to build the equipment list

\n

• Pulling and organizing PLC programs, schematics, and work order exports from the plant's systems

\n

• Sitting with technicians while they use Jack, capturing what works and what doesn't

\n

• Running the punch list between the plant and our engineering team

\n

• Turning tribal knowledge from 20-year veterans into structured data Jack can learn from

\n

\n

Half the work is engineering. Half is talking to people who are busy and skeptical and getting them to help you anyway. We need someone who can do both.

Who this is for\n

\n
• Engineering student, mechanical preferred. Electrical, industrial, or manufacturing also fits.

\n

• Good with people. You can walk up to a maintenance tech mid-shift and get what you need without annoying him.

\n

• Comfortable with ambiguous, messy tasks. Nobody will hand you a checklist. You'll write it.

\n

• High agency. You see the gap and fill it before someone asks.

\n

• Self-motivated and hard-working. You'll be the only Metis person in the building most days.

\n

• Must have a car and be able to drive to Manteca 3 days a week. Non-negotiable.

\n

No prior work experience required. Tenacity is the requirement.

• $20/hour. Mileage reimbursed.

\n
