About the Role

Bandak is hiring a Construction Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout on behalf of our owner clients. You will be the owner's representative on site and in OAC meetings, keeping scope, schedule, budget and quality on track. The role is based in San Diego with up to 50% travel to project sites across the region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
\n
\n
Project leadership
\n
\n
• Manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
\n
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, contractors and consultants.
\n
• Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and issue agendas, minutes and action-item lists.
\n
Schedule and budget
\n
\n
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cash-flow forecasts and cost reports.
\n
• Review and monitor contractor schedules; identify delays and drive recovery plans.
\n
• Review pay applications, change orders and potential change items; negotiate fair resolutions.
\n
\n
Contracts and procurement
\n
\n
• Support bid packages, RFPs, bid leveling and contractor/consultant selection.
\n
• Administer contracts, track RFIs and submittals, and manage the document control process.
\n
Field oversight
\n
• Conduct regular site walks to verify progress, quality and safety compliance.
\n
• Coordinate permitting, inspections and utility work with local jurisdictions.
\n
• Manage punch lists, commissioning, turnover documents and project closeout.
\n
Reporting
\n
• Prepare monthly owner reports covering budget, schedule, risks and decisions needed.
\n
• Identify risks early and present clear options and recommendations to clients and leadership.
\n
\n
Required Qualifications
\n
\n
• 5–8 years of construction project management experience with a general contractor, owner's representative or construction management firm.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field, or equivalent experience.
\n
• Proven record delivering commercial projects on schedule and within budget.
\n
• Working knowledge of construction contracts (AIA, ConsensusDocs), cost control and scheduling.
\n
• Proficiency with Procore (or similar), Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam and Microsoft 365.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and schedules.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to owners and executives.
\n
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
\n

Preferred Qualifications
\n
\n
• PMP, CCM or LEED AP credential.
\n
• OSHA 30 certification.
\n
• Owner's representative experience.
\n
• Background in healthcare, life science, higher education, hospitality or tenant improvement projects.
\n
• Familiarity with California building codes, DSA or HCAI review processes.
\n
\n
Travel and Work Environment
\n
\n
• Up to 50% travel to project sites, including overnight stays; travel expenses are reimbursed per company policy.
\n
• Remaining time is split between the San Diego office and local job sites.
\n
• Field work involves walking active construction sites, climbing ladders and stairs, and wearing required PPE.
\n
• Occasional early-morning, evening or weekend work to meet project milestones.
\n
