Senior Transmission & Distribution Line Engineer

Location: Pomona, CA - Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite

\n

Contract: 12 Months

\n

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

\n

Pay Rate: $64.47 per hour

\n


\n

We are seeking an experienced Senior Transmission & Distribution Line Engineer to support electric utility overhead line design and engineering projects.

\n


\n

This role will perform transmission and distribution line design and analysis using industry-standard engineering tools including PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole, develop engineering packages for overhead line and pole/foundation projects, and provide technical support throughout design and construction.

\n


\n

A Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required for this position.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Perform transmission and distribution line design and analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, SPIDAcalc and related engineering software.
  • \n

  • Develop and review engineering packages for overhead transmission and distribution line projects.
  • \n

  • Perform engineering analysis associated with pole and foundation designs.
  • \n

  • Complete engineering calculations and technical reviews to support utility line design.
  • \n

  • Ensure designs comply with GO95, NESC, ASCE and applicable utility engineering standards.
  • \n

  • Independently perform engineering design work and technical reviews.
  • \n

  • Identify and resolve technical and design-related issues.
  • \n

  • Provide technical support to construction and field personnel.
  • \n

  • Participate in field visits when required to support engineering and construction activities.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with project teams and other engineering disciplines.
  • \n

  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support throughout project execution.
  • \n

  • Support the continuous improvement of engineering standards, procedures and design practices.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • \n

  • 3+ years of electric utility transmission and/or distribution line design experience.
  • \n

  • Experience using PLS-CADD and/or PLS-Pole.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of GO95, NESC and applicable utility design standards.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to independently perform engineering design work and technical reviews.
  • \n

Preferred Experience

\n

    \n
  • SPIDAcalc experience.
  • \n

  • PLS-Caisson experience.
  • \n

  • California electric utility experience.
  • \n

  • Experience with pole and foundation design.
  • \n

  • Experience applying ASCE standards to utility engineering projects.
  • \n

\n


\n

Key Technical Skills

\n

The strongest candidates will combine electric utility transmission or distribution line design experience with hands-on knowledge of PLS-CADD or PLS-Pole and familiarity with overhead line design standards.

\n


\n

Experience with California utility requirements, GO95, SPIDAcalc, PLS-Caisson and pole/foundation engineering would be particularly valuable.

\n


\n

PE license is not required.

\n
