Position Overview

Galloway Boys Trucking is seeking a detail-oriented and organized entry level Accounting Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for processing, verifying, and entering billing data, as well as managing ticket documentation to ensure accurate and timely contractor billing. You will also assist with secondary accounting tasks, including carrier payments.

Key Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

Ticket Verification & Scanning: Scan incoming tickets to verify that all details are filled out completely and accurately in accordance with dispatch records
Data Entry: Accurately input billing information into job work order sheets received via email from drivers.
Document Compilation & Archiving: Compile verified tickets into unified PDF packages to submit to contractors for review. Maintain organized digital archives of all combined PDFs within Galloway Boys Trucking’s Google Drive folder.
Quality Control: Maintain high attention to detail and rigorous quality checks to ensure billing processes remain quick, efficient, and error-free.

Secondary Responsibilities

Carrier Payments: Assist with processing, reviewing, and organizing payments for carrier partners as needed.
General Support: Provide administrative and accounting support to the department as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the transportation, trucking, or logistics industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Excel) and accounting software. Familiarity with Google Drive and PDF management tools.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and accuracy in data entry, proofreading, and financial record-keeping.
Time Management: Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, contractors, and internal team members.
Teamwork & Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
