Skills Required:
Primary (Must-Have):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of electronics or electromechanical assembly experience
- Experience working with Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) controls
- Hands-on experience with soldering, resistance welding, epoxy mixing, bonding, and packaging techniques
- Experience working under microscopes for extended periods
- Ability to handle and assemble small precision components
- Experience with cable harness and PCB assembly
- Mechanical assembly experience involving small parts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions
- Experience performing high-voltage potting and high-voltage testing
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Basic computer skills for work order processing and timekeeping
- Ability to work independently and follow established manufacturing procedures
Secondary (Good to Have):
- J-STD-001 Certification
- Experience handling classified assemblies
- Experience operating winding and braiding machinery
- Knowledge of IPC standards and ESD compliance
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with production documentation and quality systems
Position Overview
The Electromechanical Assembler II performs electronic and electromechanical assembly and subassembly operations in a production environment. Working under general supervision, this role is responsible for assembling precision components while maintaining high-quality standards and following established manufacturing procedures.
The ideal candidate will have experience with soldering, PCB and cable harness assembly, microscope work, and precision mechanical assembly while ensuring compliance with ESD, safety, and quality requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform electronic and electromechanical assembly and subassembly operations.
- Assemble precision components following established production procedures.
- Work under microscopes for extended periods while assembling miniature components.
- Handle delicate parts, including piezoelectric crystals and classified assemblies.
- Perform intermediate cable harness and PCB assembly.
- Complete mechanical assembly of small and precision components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Perform soldering, resistance welding, epoxy mixing, bonding, and packaging operations.
- Conduct high-voltage potting and high-voltage testing.
- Operate winding and braiding machinery and other manufacturing equipment.
- Utilize torque wrenches, digital multimeters, soldering irons, cutters, wire strippers, crimpers, heat guns, and other precision hand tools.
- Maintain accurate work order documentation using computer systems.
- Follow ESD procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production Control, and Quality teams to resolve production issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of electronics or electromechanical assembly experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience working under microscopes and handling miniature components.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently in a production environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- J-STD-001 Certification.
- Experience with aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.
- Experience handling classified assemblies.
- Knowledge of IPC standards and ESD-controlled manufacturing environments.
- Experience with high-voltage testing and advanced electronic assembly techniques.
