We are seeking a Chimney Sweep/Fireplace Technician to inspect, clean, service, and maintain wood-burning systems, gas fireplaces, multi-fuel systems, and pellet stoves. This field-service role may be performed independently, alongside an apprentice, or as part of a service crew, with regional, local, and emergency call-out coverage. The position includes routine maintenance, minor masonry repairs, chimney liner installation, and full fireplace restoration.
Responsibilities
- Conduct chimney inspections and safety assessments.
- Perform chimney sweeping, creosote removal, and flue cleaning.
- Service fireplaces and adjust dampers.
- Test ventilation systems for safe operation.
- Complete routine maintenance, minor masonry repairs, chimney liner installations, and fireplace restorations.
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Provide regional, local, and emergency call-out service coverage.
- Document each visit with inspection reports, photos, and repair estimates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in chimney and fireplace servicing.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep certification.
- Knowledge of chimney inspection, fireplace repair, creosote removal, and flue systems.
- Experience with masonry repair and ventilation testing.
- Understanding of fall protection practices.
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
