Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. Ideal candidates will have 4 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on production and material handling equipment to ensure reliable operation and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
- Identify and resolve problems on automated equipment, including systems that utilize PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Execute mechanical repairs and component replacements in a timely and safe manner to maintain continuous production.
- Monitor equipment performance, document issues, and communicate findings to the appropriate team members.
- Support production by responding quickly to equipment failures and working to restore operation as efficiently as possible.
- Follow established maintenance procedures and safety protocols while working with tools, machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
- Experience working with automated equipment, including exposure to PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and follow established maintenance schedules.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
