Empower students and make a difference as an ASL Paraprofessional in a supportive educational setting near Olivehurst, CA. In this part-time, contract position, you'll work closely with students across various sites in a rewarding after-school environment. This opportunity is perfect for those skilled in American Sign Language who are passionate about helping learners of all abilities access their education.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- EIPA certification is not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of students and teaching staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and assistance to students who utilize sign language
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure inclusive participation in after-school programs
- Foster a positive, engaging learning atmosphere for all students
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the unique needs of each learner
- Adapt classroom materials and instructions as necessary for accessibility
- Travel between various educational sites as assigned
