Forensic Accounting Staff Accountant

Job Description

This is an entry-level position. This position requires attention to detail, willingness to learn on the job quickly, and the ability to interact with more experienced professionals. This position expects growth into greater responsibilities from the initial responsibilities below:

· Maintaining, organizing, and managing case documents in our document inventory system;

· Reviewing documents received to ensure completeness;

· Interacting with clients and attorneys regarding case data;

· Analysis of bank statements, investment records, and tax returns

· Preparing schedules summarizing financial data;

· Preparing or reviewing work papers supporting work products;

· Assisting in the preparation of working files to be utilized in Court or at settlement conferences;

· Proofreading and assisting with declarations for court cases

· Data-entry assistance;

· Work independently and as part of a team

Skills required:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· QuickBooks experience preferred.

· Basic understanding of financial statements, financial books, and tax returns

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Strong organizational skills

· Extremely detail oriented

· Willingness to ask questions and learn

· Ability to work under deadlines when necessary;

· Ability to demonstrate integrity in meetings and conference calls with attorneys and clients

The ideal candidate will have:

· College degree, alternatively, 3+ years of experience at an accounting firm, law firm, or other professional services firm;
