Position: Full-Time
Quest Staffing Services is seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Optical Technician/Machinist to operate production equipment and fabricate precision optical components, including lenses, mirrors, and windows. Responsibilities:
- Operate machining and production equipment to fabricate optical components
- Clean, maintain, and perform basic repairs on equipment
- Meet daily production quotas and maintain accurate production records
- Use measuring instruments to verify component dimensions and quality
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Complete production logs and work orders
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical skills and as well as good written
- Basic knowledge of machining equipment, including saws, grinders, mills, lathes, and bevelers
- Basic math skills using standard and metric measurements, including decimals
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, optical comparators, tool maker microscopes, depth gauges, and other various measurement equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a machine shop environment
- Basic CNC operation and programming experience is a plus
- Optical shop experience and familiarity with precision optical components preferred
