Part-Time Special Education Teacher – Santa Cruz, CA
Spindle is partnering with a school district in Santa Cruz, California, to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support an elementary student with autism. This is a unique opportunity to provide individualized instruction in a focused, supportive setting and help a student build skills, confidence, and independence.

- Location: Santa Cruz, CA
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Schedule: Part-time, Monday–Thursday
- On-Site Requirement: 4 days per week
- Initial Caseload: 1 student, 2nd grade
- Daily Hours: 3 hours per day to start
Responsibilities
- Support the student's academic progress, engagement, and skill development.
- Use appropriate instructional strategies to support a student with autism.
- Create a structured, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with school staff to support student goals and educational progress.
- Adapt instruction as needed to meet the student's individual needs.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold an active California Education Specialist Credential in one of the following:
- Mild/Moderate with Autism Authorization (AAAS), or
- Moderate/Severe (ESN)
An active qualifying California credential is mandatory for consideration.
