Job Description

Job DescriptionVitalplast USA Inc. | International Materials Sourcing

Great Opportunities Don't Always Come to You. Sometimes, You Have to Find Them.Ever discovered a great supplier that wasn't on anyone's radar? Made a phone call that turned into a valuable business relationship? Or found a better way to source something everyone else thought was difficult to find?If those moments sound familiar, we might have something in common. At Vitalplast USA Inc., we're looking for a Sourcing Buyer who enjoys the search just as much as the deal.Someone who likes talking to people, asking good questions, exploring new markets, and figuring things out along the way.Our focus is on sourcing plastic resins, scrap, surplus materials, and other industrial materials through international supplier networks.About 60% of your time will be spent discovering and developing new suppliers, and 40% turning those opportunities into successful purchases.

A Little About Your Day

One morning, you might be reaching out to a manufacturer you've never worked with before.By afternoon, you're comparing material specifications, negotiating a price, or figuring out whether an interesting offer is actually a good deal. Some days, the challenge is finding the right supplier. Other days, it's making sure everything goes smoothly after the purchase. And sometimes, you'll come across something you've never seen before. That's when curiosity and a willingness to dig deeper make all the difference.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Discover and connect with new manufacturers, recyclers, brokers, and material suppliers.
  • Build supplier relationships from the first introduction to repeat purchases.
  • Research materials, compare offers, and negotiate pricing and payment terms.
  • Evaluate material quality, specifications, availability, and supplier reliability.
  • Manage purchase orders and follow through until materials are delivered.
  • Work with logistics and accounting teams to coordinate international shipments and payments.
  • Visit suppliers and attend industry events to discover new sourcing opportunities.
  • Keep exploring better sources, new markets, and smarter ways of doing things.

What You'll BringYou'll need hands-on experience finding suppliers independently—not just purchasing from an existing vendor list. We're also looking for:

  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish, including business negotiations.
  • Experience in proactive supplier sourcing, procurement, or B2B supplier development.
  • Confidence initiating conversations and negotiating with new suppliers.
  • Knowledge of international purchasing, Incoterms, and cross-border logistics, particularly involving Mexico.
  • Experience with Excel and purchasing or ERP systems.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, particularly to Mexico, with a valid passport.
  • Experience with plastics, recycled materials, industrial scrap, or surplus inventory is especially valuable.

What Makes This Role Interesting? There's no single playbook for finding a great supplier.Sometimes it's research. Sometimes it's knowing the right question to ask. Sometimes it's following up one more time when an opportunity looks promising. You'll have the opportunity to use your experience, build new connections, learn about different materials and markets, and see the results of the relationships you've developed. We appreciate people who take their commitments seriously, communicate openly, and aren't afraid to say, "I haven't worked with that before, but I'd like to understand it."

Let's TalkWe'd love to hear about a supplier you discovered on your own, an interesting sourcing challenge you solved, or a purchasing opportunity you're particularly proud of.Tell us what you found, how you found it, and what happened next.

We're looking forward to hearing your story.
