Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join a sophisticated labor and employment practice in Woodland Hills. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to work on complex employment matters while developing deeper expertise in labor and employment law.

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have strong employment litigation experience and be comfortable handling matters throughout the litigation lifecycle. Significant labor and employment experience, particularly with California wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters, is preferred. Strong litigators with a demonstrated interest in developing an employment practice will also be considered.
Responsibilities

Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery.

Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions.

Take and defend depositions.

Litigate California wage and hour class actions.

Handle PAGA matters.

Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.

Communicate with clients and provide practical legal guidance.

Manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.

Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal professionals.
Qualifications

3+ years of litigation experience.

Significant labor and employment experience preferred.

Experience with California wage and hour class actions and PAGA cases preferred.

Strong experience with pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and depositions.

Demonstrated interest in labor and employment law.

Excellent academic credentials.

Strong legal writing and analytical skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Admission to the California Bar required.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $210,000–$270,000+ annually, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
