Job Title: Shipping Clerk
Job Description
This role supports a busy distribution site for testing equipment by accurately picking, mixing, staging, and packaging components to meet daily production and shipping goals. The Shipping Clerk ensures inventory accuracy, maintains high safety and quality standards, and works closely with a small warehouse team to process shipments efficiently and according to established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Accurately select, mix, stage, and package various components in support of the shipping and production process.
- Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records to support inventory control activities.
- Utilize shipment equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling tools to move, load, and unload materials safely.
- Execute shipping and receiving tasks, including picking orders, preparing shipments, and verifying incoming and outgoing materials.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations, including counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication, to verify quantities and reconcile inventory.
- Carry out a wide range of warehouse tasks such as labeling, kitting, cell setup and staging, measuring and pouring reagents, and assembling kits.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and warehouse guidelines to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality while working in a warehouse shipping environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production and shipping goals and support a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Respond to customer emails to confirm shipment details, ensure accuracy of orders, and provide clear communication regarding shipments.
- Maintain a positive attendance record and demonstrate a strong work ethic and proactive, can-do approach to all responsibilities.
- Support warehouse inventory management using systems such as SAP and RF scanners to track and update stock levels.
Essential Skills
- 3–4+ years of experience as an inventory control clerk or in a similar warehouse inventory role.
- Hands-on experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse inventory management.
- Ability to operate or work around forklifts and other material handling equipment (forklift experience is a plus).
- Proficiency using RF scanners and related warehouse technology for picking and inventory tracking.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including picking, packing, and verifying shipments.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, safety, and quality in all tasks.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to respond to customer emails and ensure shipment information is correct.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and warehouse guidelines consistently.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive, can-do approach to daily responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team to meet production and shipping goals.
- Ability to successfully perform tasks such as labeling, kitting, cell setup and staging, measuring and pouring reagents, and kit assembling.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse shipping environment with a focus on testing equipment or similar products.
- Comfort using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems for inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Experience in material handling, including unloading, palletizing, and organizing products in a warehouse setting.
- Experience maintaining a consistent employment history with longer-term roles that demonstrate reliability and commitment.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with approximately five team members in a small group setting.

Work Environment
The role is based in a warehouse shipping environment within a distribution site for testing equipment. You will work as part of a small team of about five people, fostering close collaboration and clear communication. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering consistent daytime hours. The environment involves regular use of warehouse technologies and equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and SAP for inventory control, as well as handling, staging, and assembling kits and reagents in accordance with standard operating procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
