Secure Net Alliance is seeking a dependable, professional Armed Security Officer for a bank assignment in Northridge, California. The officer will help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for employees and customers through a visible security presence, attentive observation, and sound judgment.
The ideal candidate is punctual, composed under pressure, and comfortable working in a public-facing environment. This position requires someone who can remain alert throughout the shift, communicate respectfully, and follow established security procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible, professional armed security presence during assigned hours.
- Observe entrances, exits, customer areas, and other designated portions of the property.
- Identify and promptly report suspicious activity, safety concerns, disturbances, and security incidents.
- Conduct assigned patrols and checks in accordance with site post orders.
- Enforce applicable site rules respectfully and consistently.
- Use verbal communication and de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
- Respond to emergencies according to training, post orders, and company procedures.
- Contact emergency services when necessary and provide accurate information to responding personnel.
- Notify the Field Supervisor promptly of incidents, staffing concerns, equipment issues, or requests requiring further direction.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely daily activity reports and incident reports.
- Maintain required credentials and comply with company firearm and equipment requirements.
- Protect confidential information learned during the assignment.
- Follow timekeeping, attendance, uniform, and conduct requirements.
- Complete shift handoffs and communicate relevant information to relief personnel.
- Perform other security duties related to the assignment as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Current California BSIS Guard Card.
- Current California BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit with the appropriate authorized caliber for the firearm carried.
- Ability to satisfy all applicable requirements for working as an armed security officer.
- Strong observation, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to write understandable, factual reports in English.
- Ability to follow written post orders and verbal instructions.
- Consistent availability for the assigned schedule and reliable transportation to the worksite.
- Professional appearance and respectful workplace conduct.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain composure, and respond appropriately to changing conditions.
- Ability to use a smartphone or other designated device for timekeeping, reporting, and company communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous armed security experience.
- Experience providing security at a bank, financial institution, or similar customer-facing location.
- Training or experience in conflict de-escalation and emergency response.
- Current CPR, first aid, or AED certification.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This assignment involves working in a public-facing bank environment, with duties that may take place indoors and outdoors. Officers may be required to stand or walk for extended periods, perform patrols, observe their surroundings, and communicate with employees, customers, and emergency responders.
Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Professional Standards
Officers are expected to report on time, properly uniformed, and prepared for duty. Remaining alert, following post orders, and communicating promptly with supervision are essential to this assignment. Personal phone use and other distractions must comply with company and site policies.
Officers must perform their duties within their training, legal authority, and company procedures. Firearms must be carried and handled in accordance with applicable requirements and company policy.
