Primary Job Duties:
Oversee/Operate the machinery that is producing concrete block units, and / or, concrete pavers.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. In charge of ensuring that all concrete block units are the appropriate dimensions as well as meeting required specifications.
2. Installation of required molds.
3. Ensures that all production employees are following safety policies.
4. Troubleshooting issues with machinery and identifying items that may need upkeep.
5. Implement immediate onsite corrections to mechanical defects in order to meet daily production output requirements and cycle times.
6. Complete daily production reports.
7. Ensures that the machine operator’s working area is safe and clean.
8. Must follow and understand the Lock-Out Tag-Out policy, and all safety rules and policies.
Skills Needed:
Previous experience with the manufacturing of concrete units is a plus
- Familiar with automation equipment : pneumatics, cylinders, sensors, relays and computers.
- Operation Monitoring: Observes moving equipment, looks at gauges, dials, or other indicators to assess equipment performance.
- Troubleshooting: Determines causes of machine downtime, poor quality or performance and decides on best course of action to temporarily correct with future permanent fix planned.
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience with the manufacturing of concrete block units.
Previous experience with Columbia or Besser machinery.
Previous experience with Omag / Tiger machinery.
Experience:
- Job Experience is required: 2 years preferred
Communication skills English and Spanish preferred but not required.
Education:
- High School diploma , GED or Trade School Training
Minimum physical requirements:
Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing and lifting, etc.
Constant- Seeing, carrying, gripping objects under 20lbs.
Frequent- Bending, reaching, sitting, lifting objects under 20lbs.
Occasional- feeling, climbing, balancing, hearing, stooping, standing, walking, driving, twisting, hand tools. Pushing and pulling objects under 20 lbs. Carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling items from 20 lbs up to 100 lbs.
