Job Title: Forklift/Diesel Mechanic
Pay: $25/hr - $35/hr
Shift: Monday - Thursday / 4-10 Schedule (5:30am - 2:30pm) OT required when needed

Job Description
We are a leading structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication company committed to quality craftsmanship, safety, and operational excellence. We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team and ensure our equipment operates reliably and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on forklifts, material handling equipment, and other shop machinery. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience working on propane, diesel, and electric-powered forklifts.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on forklifts, telehandlers, and other material handling equipment.
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, fuel, steering, brake, and drivetrain issues.
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and parts inventories.
- Coordinate with operations and production teams to prioritize equipment repairs.
- Order and replace parts as necessary while controlling maintenance costs.
- Perform safety inspections and recommend repairs or equipment replacements when needed.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of additional shop equipment as required.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, diesel mechanic, or industrial maintenance technician.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and fuel systems.
- Experience servicing propane, diesel, and electric forklifts (Heavy Forklift)
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift manufacturer certifications (Toyota, Hyster, Yale, CAT, Crown, Raymond, or similar).
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience working in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
