Summary

This position works with the entire team in the provision of services to all ReFresh Spot guests.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Meet, greet, sign-in, and direct guests to appropriate resources which are available on-site.

2. Serve as a liaison between guests and ReFresh Spot staff.

3. Answer questions regarding ReFresh Spot resources, hours, and procedures.

4. Gather community feedback, input, recommendations regarding ReFresh Spot operations and programming.

5. Maintain a positive, warm, welcoming environment in cooperation with additional facility partners.

6. Conduct outreach to the surrounding community to spread the word about the ReFresh Spot.

7. Be responsive to community concerns and questions, including documenting them when relevant.

8. Assist with preparation of monthly and annual reports regarding guest usage, best practices, challenges, and needs.

9. Identify and engage community members as volunteer partners assisting with facility operations.

10. Other related duties and responsibilities linked to community organizing with the goal of preventing and reducing alcohol and other drug related problems.

11. Attend program staff meetings as required, agency meetings as mandated, and on-site and off-site trainings as directed.

12. Assist in ensuring a safe and alcohol/drug-free environment.

13. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Credential, Education, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, psychology, sociology, or other related field OR a minimum of four years’ experience working with culturally diverse and/or vulnerable populations, including co-occurring diagnosis and homelessness OR lived experience with homelessness, incarceration, and/or substance abuse.


Language and Communication Skills

1. Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.

2. Ability to speak effectively respectfully before groups, residents/participants, and family members.

3. Ability to write and document legibly.


Other Requirements

1. Familiar with the principles of 12-Step programs and/or philosophy and Trauma-Informed Care.

2. Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.

3. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work demands.

4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

5. A valid government-issued picture ID.
