Job Title: Staff Finance Associate – Energy

Location: San Francisco, California

Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 USD

Day to day

\n

    \n
  • Own and maintain detailed bill of materials (BOM) cost models across energy storage products, covering materials, cells, modules, power electronics, and packaging.
  • \n

  • Develop should-cost models to benchmark component and supplier pricing against market rates and internal expectations.
  • \n

  • Identify and support cost-reduction opportunities across the supply chain, including supplier negotiations, design-to-value initiatives, and make-vs-buy analysis.
  • \n

  • Analyze supplier cost structures, trade terms, and logistics economics to support sourcing decisions and manage supply risk.
  • \n

  • Build financial and operational models connecting procurement and manufacturing decisions to margins and unit economics.
  • \n

  • Partner with engineering, procurement, operations, and leadership teams to support pricing, sourcing, second-sourcing, and supply chain strategy.
  • \n

  • Translate complex technical and supply chain information into clear financial insights and recommendations.
  • \n

Requirements

\n

    \n
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operational finance, sourcing, commodity management, or a similar field.
  • \n

  • Experience as a Global Supply Manager, Commodity Manager, Sourcing Manager, Supply Chain Program Manager, or in finance within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of BOM cost modelling, should-cost analysis, sourcing strategy, and/or manufacturing economics.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of supply chain cost drivers, supplier pricing, and operational trade-offs.
  • \n

  • Exceptional Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience building detailed, bottom-up cost analyses.
  • \n

  • Ability to turn complex technical and operational information into clear financial insights.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • \n

  • Comfortable working independently and solving ambiguous problems in a fast-moving environment.
  • \n

  • Experience within energy storage, battery systems, hardware, or other manufacturing-intensive industries is highly desirable.
  • \n

  • A genuine interest in sustainability and contributing to the transition toward cleaner energy.
  • \n
