About Us
A licensed residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program in Southern California. We provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients begin their recovery journey. Nutrition is a key part of healing, and we're looking for a dependable cook who takes pride in preparing healthy, home-style meals for our clients.
What You'll Do
- Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals for residential clients according to the weekly menu
- Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and medical or religious dietary needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen that meets health and licensing standards
- Properly store, label, and rotate food; track inventory and assist with grocery ordering
- Follow food safety guidelines, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules
- Interact respectfully with clients and staff, maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Support a recovery-friendly, respectful environment
Requirements
- At least 1 year of cooking experience (institutional, residential, or restaurant preferred)
- Valid California Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain ); ServSafe certification a plus
- Ability to prepare meals in a timely manner for groups
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs
- Must pass a background check and health screening (TB test)
- Respect for client confidentiality and a nonjudgmental attitude toward individuals in recovery
Preferred
- Experience cooking in a treatment, healthcare, group home, or residential setting
- Knowledge of basic nutrition and healthy meal planning
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
