Project Engineer
Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Duration: 5 Months
Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer with experience in electrical transmission engineering and project execution. The ideal candidate will lead engineering and design activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support the successful delivery of transmission infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and design activities for transmission projects.
- Perform engineering analyses, technical studies, and conceptual designs.
- Prepare design criteria, specifications, scope documents, and technical reports.
- Conduct site walkdowns and participate in design review meetings.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams.
- Review engineering drawings, consultant deliverables, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate project alternatives and provide engineering recommendations.
- Support restoration planning and root cause analysis when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of engineering and design experience.
- Experience with electrical transmission projects.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 115kV–500kV transmission line engineering.
- Knowledge of GO 95 and NESC standards.
- Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar transmission design tools.
- Utility or power delivery industry experience is a plus.
Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule with onsite collaboration days and occasional travel for project-related activities.
