Purpose
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the shipping department, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and shipment of electronic goods and materials. This entry-level position involves learning and applying standard shipping procedures to support on-time delivery and maintain inventory accuracy. The Shipping Clerk will work under the guidance of senior team members to contribute to the smooth flow of outgoing shipments.
Responsibilities
• Locate and gather items for shipment based on packing lists or order instructions. Verify item quantities and descriptions against order details.
• Assist in packaging items securely for shipment using appropriate materials. Apply pre-generated shipping labels accurately to packages.
• Help prepare basic shipping documents such as packing slips and address labels under supervision. May assist with data entry into shipping systems.
• May assist with loading and unloading shipments or interacting with drivers for basic tasks under guidance.
• Assist in tracking outgoing shipments using provided systems and report any initial issues to senior team members.
• Help maintain organization in the shipping area and may assist with basic inventory counts or stock rotation tasks.
• Visually inspect packaged items for obvious damage before shipment and report any concerns.
• Follow all established shipping procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.
• Learning and Development: Actively learn shipping processes, regulations, and best practices under the direction of senior team members.
• Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and safe.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and ensure accuracy in order picking and labeling.
• Good verbal communication skills to interact with team members and carriers, as needed.
• Ability to keep work area organized and manage tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with basic computer operations for data entry and label printing.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn shipping procedures, regulations, and company processes.
• Awareness of and commitment to following safety procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior shipping experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and understand basic English.
• Basic math skills.
• Willingness to adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
• Must be a U.S. person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and move boxes and materials weighing up to [Specify weight limit, e.g., 30 lbs] on a regular basis.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Manual dexterity for packaging and labeling items.
• Visual acuity to read labels and order information.
• Must wear required preventive safety gear, which may include but not limited to safety shoes, safety belts, and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated by company policy.
• Ability to operate basic material handling equipment such as hand trucks (training may be provided).
• Comfortable working in a warehouse or shipping environment.
• This is a fulltime on-site role that will be performed at one of our multiple locations
Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime available.
