Job Description
Construction Project Manager
Northern & Southern California | Full-Time
Build with purpose. Lead with ownership. Deliver results.
Base salary: $95,000–$175,000
ParkerBeth Search Partners is partnering with a key client in the construction and specialty trades industry to find an experienced Construction Project Manager who knows how to turn project plans into successful outcomes.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on project leader who thrives on ownership, understands the details that drive profitability, and takes pride in delivering quality work safely, on schedule, and to specification.
If you're experienced in waterproofing, deck coatings, roofing, or building restoration, and you're ready to take ownership of projects from start to finish, this could be your next great career move.
The Opportunity
In this role, you'll oversee multiple construction projects, taking ownership from preconstruction through completion and warranty. You'll work closely with field crews, subcontractors, clients, and other project stakeholders to keep projects running smoothly while balancing schedules, budgets, quality, and safety.
What You'll Do
- Own projects from start to finish. Manage multiple projects through preconstruction, execution, closeout, and warranty.
- Lead field execution. Coordinate crews and subcontractors, ensuring work follows the approved scope, drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
- Drive financial performance. Oversee project budgets, procurement and buyout, cost forecasting, change orders, subcontractor invoices, and monthly billing.
- Protect quality and workmanship. Verify critical installations before they are covered and help prevent costly rework, callbacks, and warranty issues.
- Build strong client relationships. Serve as a trusted point of contact for property managers, ownership groups, boards, and consultants.
- Keep stakeholders informed. Provide consistent project updates, schedules, and progress photos while proactively communicating risks and changes.
- Maintain safe, compliant job sites. Enforce applicable safety requirements, fall protection standards, and subcontractor licensing and insurance compliance.
- Deliver measurable results. Keep projects on schedule, protect margins, and ensure documentation and warranty requirements are completed.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of construction project management experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in waterproofing, deck coatings, or roofing.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, and change orders.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, engineering reports, scopes of work, and manufacturer specifications.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate field crews and subcontractors effectively.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach to project execution, quality control, and client service.
- A valid California driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites throughout California.
Additional Qualifications That Stand Out
- Manufacturer applicator certifications, such as Westcoat, Life Deck, Sika, Tremco, or equivalent.
- IIBEC credentials.
- Cal/OSHA 30 certification.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
How Success Is Measured
You'll be empowered to take ownership of outcomes, with success measured by:
- Delivering projects within targeted gross profit margins.
- Securing change order approvals before additional work begins.
- Maintaining accurate forecasting, timely billing, and reliable project schedules.
- Achieving on-time project completion targets.
- Minimizing workmanship callbacks and preventing avoidable rework.
- Ensuring manufacturer warranties are issued for completed projects.
- Maintaining consistent, transparent client communication.
- Upholding a strong job-site safety record.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $95,000–$175,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Additional project gross profit-sharing opportunity.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Life insurance.
- Paid time off.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is more than a project coordination role. It's an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of projects, influence financial performance, strengthen client relationships, and make a direct impact on the quality of construction delivery.
We're looking for someone who takes initiative, solves problems before they escalate, and understands that successful project management means more than finishing the job—it means delivering the right result.
