POSITION SUMMARY
Receives, stores and distributes materials, tools, equipment and products within establishments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to shipping.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Open bales, crates and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Use computer to enter records.
- Prepare parcels for shipping. Maintain inventory records.
- Operate lift truck or use handtruck to move, convey or hoist materials to and from shipping and receiving platforms, delivery trucks, storage or work areas.

- SKILLS Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), detailed-oriented. Very little travel (may occasionally be required to transport or pick up items to other location).
