-2+ years experience with different insurance verifications and eligibility (IPA's, PPOs, HMO's, Medicare, etc)
-Experience with an EMR Software
-HS Diploma
-Flu shot required during onboarding

An employer is looking for a Patient Access Rep in the Emergency Room setting. This individual will be cross trained on Patient Access activities for patients throughout the Medical Center for Inpatient, Outpatient, L&D, and/or Emergency Services. Patient Access Representatives facilitate a positive patient experience by managing tasks such as insurance verification, benefits determination, and financial clearance. They handle responsibilities across Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Counseling, and more. Strong social skills are essential for effective communication with patients and clinical staff in a demanding healthcare environment. This will be on site with one weekend shift (every Saturday or every Sunday).
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable working in an emergency department setting around patients and potentially seeing or being around bodily fluids
- On your feet, consistently walking and standing for long periods of time
- Working in areas under construction and may be exposed to dust and noise
- Comfortable working at a desk, bedside, or on workstations on wheels
Available Shifts:
- Day: Start time anywhere between 6am-12pm (8 hour shift)
- Evening: start time between 12pm and 6pm (8 hour shift)
- Overnight: start time 10pm-12am (8 hour shift)
- 5 days a week, everyone works one weekend day, with a set schedule either every sat or every Sunday
- You will receive your shift schedule at least a week in advance
Pay: $25/hr
6+ month contract with potential for extension
