Support student success as an ASL Paraprofessional in an after-school environment. This contract position, located near Gridley, CA, offers an engaging opportunity to work with students across various sites. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in fostering communication, inclusivity, and learning for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience supporting school-aged children in educational settings is highly valued
- EIPA certification is not required
- Ability to adapt and engage with students at various grade levels
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled hours consistently
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students during after-school activities and academic sessions from 2:30 to 6:00 PM
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers using ASL
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and reinforcing classroom instruction
- Encourage positive interactions and engagement
- Monitor and ensure student safety and participation during after-school programs
- Travel to multiple sites as needed on assignment
