Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join a dynamic manufacturing team in a machine shop environment. In this role, you set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal components according to precise specifications. You use your knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and quality control to produce accurate parts, while collaborating with teammates and following all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend metal sheets and components to specified dimensions and angles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Program the press brake for specific jobs, ensuring accurate dimensions, angles, and repeatability.
  • Assemble metal components as needed using appropriate hand tools and related equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment to ensure safe and optimal performance.
  • Operate forklifts safely for material handling within the manufacturing environment.
  • Apply quality control techniques to verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Use knowledge of GD&T to understand and meet dimensional and tolerance requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in setting up and programming press brake machines for various metal bending tasks.
  • Experience working with sheet metal and metal bending machines such as press brakes, punch presses, and die presses.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes.
  • Practical experience assembling metal components using hand tools.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Knowledge of quality control practices, including the use of calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for interpreting dimensional requirements.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Entry-level friendly position with openness to candidates who have experience on any metal bending machines such as punch press or die press.
  • Experience with sheet metal handling and fabrication in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with milling machines, CNC equipment, and lathe operations is an asset.
  • Comfort working in a machine shop environment with industrial equipment and tooling.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tooling setups and fabrication processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a machine shop environment that uses press brakes, metal bending machines, milling machines, CNC equipment, lathes, and various hand tools. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
