The Great Library Co. is seeking a Product Designer to help shape intuitive, user-centered experiences and bring ideas to life from concept through delivery.

Position Summary

The Product Designer will partner with product, engineering, and stakeholders to design clear, engaging product experiences that solve real user needs. The Product Designer will take ownership of design work across the product lifecycle, translating strategy and customer insights into thoughtful, high-quality interfaces and flows.

This is a hands-on, full-time onsite role in Mountain View, CA, where design craft and collaboration will directly influence how our products feel, function, and evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs aligned with product goals and user needs.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and refine requirements, interaction patterns, and design standards.

  • Conduct user research and incorporate feedback to improve usability, accessibility, and overall experience.

  • Present design concepts clearly, defend design decisions with rationale, and iterate based on stakeholder input.

  • Maintain design consistency across features and deliverables, supporting cohesive product experiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience designing user-centered product interfaces, from early concept through final implementation-ready designs.

  • Strong understanding of UX principles, usability practices, and interaction design.

  • Ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear design solutions and structured design artifacts.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • A portfolio showcasing product design work, including process and outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for complex workflows or multi-step product experiences.

  • Familiarity with design systems and component-based UI patterns.

  • Experience incorporating user testing findings into iterative design improvements.

  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and inclusive design principles.

Compensation

Annual salary: $100
