Senior AI Product Engineer II
We are partnering with a fast-growing software company that is investing heavily in the next generation of AI-powered products. The team is building customer-facing agentic AI systems that help users accomplish complex tasks through automation and intelligent decision-making.
Engineers joining the team will play a key role in defining how AI capabilities are built, deployed, and scaled across a platform used by thousands of organizations.
The Opportunity
As a Senior AI Product Engineer II, you will lead the design and development of production-grade agentic AI systems that directly impact customers. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and deliver AI-powered experiences at scale.
Success in this role requires a strong software engineering foundation, hands-on experience shipping AI products into production, and the ability to take ownership from concept through deployment and iteration.
What You Will Do
- Design and build production-grade agentic AI applications and workflows
- Develop systems that leverage large language models to automate complex user tasks
- Lead architecture and technical design decisions for AI-powered products
- Partner closely with product and engineering teams to bring new AI capabilities to market
- Establish evaluation frameworks to measure quality, reliability, and business impact
- Improve agent performance through experimentation, iteration, and production feedback
- Contribute to shared AI infrastructure and architectural standards across the organization
- Take ownership of projects from concept through launch and ongoing optimization
What We Are Looking For
- 6–8+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building and shipping production AI or agentic systems
- Strong software engineering foundation with experience developing scalable applications
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
- Experience working with LLMs, agent frameworks, orchestration tooling, or retrieval systems
- Ability to evaluate, debug, and improve AI system performance at scale
- Demonstrated ownership of technical decisions and end-to-end delivery
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building agentic AI systems
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Familiarity with tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar platforms
- Startup or high-growth company experience
- Experience leading technical initiatives or architectural decisions
Location
Hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area with a minimum of three days per week onsite.
Compensation
Base salary ranges from $192,000–$259,800, plus equity. Placement within the range will be determined based on experience, skills, and level.
