Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active California Mild/Moderate (M/M) Special Education Teaching Credential required
  • Experience supporting positive student behaviors; school will provide CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training if needed
  • Familiarity with or an eagerness to learn about mental health-focused teaching strategies
  • Background in working with K-12 students in special education settings
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver individualized lesson plans in mild/moderate special education classrooms
  • Foster a safe, supportive educational atmosphere, emphasizing mental health and student well-being
  • Implement and reinforce positive behavioral interventions as part of daily instruction
  • Collaborate closely with classroom staff, school counselors, and support personnel
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate educational records
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training sessions
