Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join a leading national law firm and its established employment litigation practice.

Position Overview

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced employment litigator seeking significant responsibility on sophisticated matters for a diverse client base. The strongest candidates will have substantial experience with wage and hour litigation, particularly California wage-and-hour class and collective actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employment litigation matters through all phases of litigation.
  • Handle California wage-and-hour class and collective actions and PAGA matters.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery.
  • Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Develop case strategies and manage day-to-day litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality written work product.
  • Communicate with clients and provide practical legal guidance.
  • Manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal professionals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of employment litigation experience.
  • Significant experience with wage and hour litigation required.
  • Experience with California wage-and-hour class and collective actions and PAGA matters strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing cases through all phases of litigation.
  • Strong experience with discovery, pleadings, motion practice, and depositions.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar required.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $210,000–$270,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
