Cornerstone Construction Services Inc is seeking a Construction Estimator to support project planning and business growth by delivering accurate, competitive estimates that align with customer needs and company goals.
Position Summary
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects by reviewing project requirements, interpreting plans and specifications, and analyzing scope and materials. This role partners with internal teams to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and sufficiently detailed to support successful project execution.
You will evaluate bid opportunities, incorporate assumptions and pricing based on available information, and help maintain estimating quality and consistency across projects.
Key Responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications, and project scope to develop complete and accurate estimating takeoffs and cost models.

Analyze labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs to produce clear, itemized estimates.

Gather and evaluate pricing information through supplier and subcontractor outreach and internal historical data.

Prepare supporting estimate documentation, including assumptions, exclusions, and risk considerations.

Collaborate with project leadership to refine scope understanding, support bid strategy, and ensure estimates align with target margins.
Required Qualifications

Proficiency in reading construction documents, including plans, specifications, and scope descriptions.

Demonstrated experience preparing construction estimates with attention to detail and cost accuracy.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate variables that impact project cost, schedule, and risk.

Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external partners to obtain pricing and scope clarification.

Working knowledge of estimating fundamentals, including takeoffs, unit cost concepts, and cost breakdown structures.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience estimating for commercial or residential construction projects.

Familiarity with construction scheduling concepts and the cost impacts of sequencing and phasing.

Experience managing multiple bid opportunities with competing deadlines.

Track record of producing estimates that support winning bids while maintaining profitability.
Compensation
Annual salary: $80,000 - $120,000
