An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to make a difference in the lives of young learners. This contract position is based near Lancaster, CA, providing itinerant RSP coverage for a medical leave. The role spans at least eight weeks, with a full-time schedule, covering both elementary and middle school students across two supportive campuses. With a caseload of 28 engaged students, you’ll serve as a valued rover, creating continuity and fostering growth in a thriving educational community.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credential (required)
- Previous Special Education teaching experience in school settings, ideally with itinerant or RSP responsibilities
- Comfortable working with both elementary and middle school age groups
- Strong commitment to individualized student support and inclusion best practices
- Organized, adaptable, and adept at traveling between sites as needed
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver resource support to students with mild/moderate disabilities according to IEPs
- Collaborate in team settings with general education teachers, administrators, and families
- Maintain detailed student records and implement effective data collection methods
- Provide direct, differentiated instruction aimed at student success and independence
- Lead and participate in IEP meetings and progress reviews
- Contribute to the welcoming, inclusive culture of each school site
